Description

Hebrew Letter Gimmel Mystical Art אות ג קבלה

Gimel offset the imbalance between two opposing forces and merge into one. Thus it is related to Gamla, used in the Talmud (moed katan 6b) to denote a bridge which unites two spaces. As such it is the power of kindness, called Gimoul, but also a symbol of reward and punishment.

Daled in the Talmud. Gimmel symbolizes a rich man running after a poor man (Daleth) to make him love.
"Why is that before Beth Gimel, Gimel and turns her back?" Because Beth is Bayith, the house is open to all. Gimel is the giver, the man who sees a needy person standing at the entrance and turn around to get him food (Autioth Rabbi Akiva).

Origin

The layout of the letter (Proto-Sinaitic) is formed of two bars at an angle, symbolizing the crown of the head and neck of a camel.
