Ancient Coin Pontius Pilate Prutah Herodian 26 - 36 AD

Pontius Pilate is one of the best known Roman procurators of Jerusalem, since he was the one who captured Jesus and ordered his crucifixion. Whereas the coin of the previous governors depicted plant symbols compatible with the Jewish religious feelings, his coin depicts two pagan symbols, the lituus and the simpulum a ladle.

The large photo in double sided is for illustrative purposes. Actual coins photographed and provided with certificate of authenticity from Israel's finest Coin dealer world renown zadoktarshish.com. Coins are chosen at very fine quality for this age. At our price, it is unbeatable value.
