Inscribed: "Deep peace of the running wave to you Deep peace of the flowing air to you Deep peace of the quiet earth to you Deep peace of the shining stars to you" These beautiful words have a complicated history as do most traditional blessings that have evolved over time. It is generally accepted that they are based on the writing of William Sharp in his 1895 novel Dominium of Dreams. Sharp was part of the Celtic Revival movement that expressed a renewed interest in many aspects of the Celtic culture. Today, the most well known version of this blessing closes "Deep peace of Christ the light of the world to you Deep peace of Christ to you".
