The focus here is on the blessing, His peace flooding our hearts and minds. Each line of verse is progressively longer (three, five, seven Hebrew words) building a divine rhythm. God is the mainstay in all six clauses: bless, keep, light shine, be gracious, feel God's presence, and find peace. This benediction in some form was widely used in ancient Israel and today is generally spoken at the conclusion of worship.
