The Claddagh is an icon of Irish jewelry, an emblem of Irish identity joining the Irish people around the world. Its history is disputed but it is an Irish tradition reaching back at least 300 years and was probably first made near modern Galway in the west of Ireland. This interpretation uses the symbols of the heart hand and crown to represent faith love and loyalty in a contemporary way but created from historic and romantic symbols
