Venus Lovers Ring - Sterling Silver

This square shaped ring was intended to be a gift for a lover. The image is of the figure of an enthroned Venus, raising her right hand as she is addressing two small figures, probably mortals in love.
The ring’s engraving and lettering in Niello from the Late Antique period is translated, “the end of those who are fearful”.
